Hey guys, it's Jean!! most people online know me as "kwuintesence" or "eLiTe_Jean" Anyway, welcome to my blog!! Feel Free to browse around. (current lovely layout/skin is not mine! i'm too lazy to make my own! i did however move and switch stuff around!!)

Oh, I forgot...I'm suppose to tell you a bit more about myself. Well, for starters..im a crazy little (i'm only 5'1) girl in a seriously messed up but fun world. (I hope that made sense.) As for my current location, it's in Los Angeles, CA (but I would prefer "LaLaLand!!" from the figment of my imagination) I love to make graphics and read graphic novels!! I love watching movies, asian dramas and animes!! I also love to listen to some music while singing and dancing like an idiot (whether someone is looking or not!!) If I'm not at home you would most likely find me at Korea Town doing "purikura" or at Little Tokyo eating chocolate filled cream puff's at "beard papa's". I'm a HUGE shopping addict, i shop and shop until i have not a cent left on my being. I like to read fanfics on my free time. Lately I've been listening to tons of korean, japanese and taiwanese music. Also, I have a huge weakness for cute things!! I don't cook too often but I think I'm pretty decent at it, since no one has died eating the food I made...yet! I usually hang out in Korea Town (cause i live near there), Little Tokyo (they have so much interesting stuff there), China Town (because the food is cheap there), LA's Fashion District (because i work there). Most likely this blog will be a dump of sorts..from my graphics to ramblings. Anyhooot, that's about it. This thing is getting longer and longer. I'll take off for now my loves. Happy days guys and I hope to get along well with all of you.If you want to get to know me more, just talk to me!! you can e-mail me anytime. Enjoy my blog and happy days :]

title: The House of Korea
date: Saturday, October 25, 2008
time:9:00 AM
Many people know me
as a person who likes to eat out a lot.
They also know that I get excited
over little things like trying out a new restaurant.

Last Wednesday I went to Little Tokyo
and I ate at this restaurant on the
third floor of Sakura Mall.
It's called "The House of Korea"
I cannot remember the names
of the dishes we ate there.
The person who served us was very polite.

Originally I wanted to go to "hanaichimonme"
(I posted "hanaichimonme" in this blog before,
just look at my earlier posts.)
I got disappointed because they were closed!!
I didn't know that they close around 3pm on Wednesdays!!
I knew I should have called first.
My next pic was between this organic restaurant
whose name starts with "Sho" and another
Japanese restaurant that had the nabeyaki udon.

What attracted us to "House of Korea"
was the picture ad they have outside.
My mom is a big fan of this korean soup dish.
I do not know the korean name of it,
but it has meat and vermicelli.
Whenever we go to the California Market
she always gets this from this indoor Korean Restaurant.
All I know is that it is their number 3 dish.

Here are the pix!!

The FOOD pix!!

bean sprouts with some oil
i like it, it's pretty crunchy!!

this was the first time that I had this appetizer
it's crunchy sea weed with mayo
i thought it was noodles when i first looked at it
when i ate it i thought it was radish
or some other vegetable cut in thin strips.
i asked the server and he told me this was actually sea weed.
it's actually very good and we enjoyed it a lot.

It was also the first time that I had eaten
kimchi like this, i've always eaten
the ones that are cut in small pieces.
It tasted good but the size was pretty big,
personally, I prefer the cut up ones.

this one is a mix of cabbage, mushrooms, etc
it's in oil again.

I did not try out this appetizer
but my mom likes it.
it's cucumbers and i think it's a little spicy

this is what i ordered for myself
I do not know what this dish is called.
It's buckwheat noodles with eggs, meat and veggies.
The sauce that goes with it is a little sweet
and to me tasted a bit like peanuts and sesame seed.
i liked it, they have some other versions
of this there so i'll try those soon.

this was what my mom got.
she likes it but she says the one from
the California Market is better.
(because there is more meat and she days the flavor is better)
I liked the broth of this a whole lot btw.

Korean Beef BBQ
it's really good :]

this is how it looked when we finished.
I'll go back there again some other time.
There were other dishes I wanted to try.
